You Meet the Nicest People on Vacations

This traveler's fun book published in 1945 has a ton of summery goodness jam packed inside, loads of great art and funny gags, snappy poetry, cute beach bunnies, etc. --everything that makes summer just a wee bit more tolerable!

Someone simply credited as "Medill" ...I've looked around online for this artist before but didn't find anything, if you have any luck let me know. Thanks for stopping by, Dex!

I was just about to ask: do you know anything else about the kick-ass cartoonist whose name looks like "Sue Simons"? I'm really in love with the simple and controlled cartoons on pages 3, 5, 9, 15, and 16. Especially the uncomplicated and elegant calligraphic clothing that evokes the work of Al Hirschfeld or whoever it was that designed Kim Possible.

Somebody needs to come along and dig the cover, stat.

I dig the Simons art as well... Hell, there isn't any art in this booklet I don't dig! I have another one from this publisher I'll post later this summer that is also full of really cool stuff. Thanks for the comments!
